Health Update - New Vaccines Now Available!

MSA is now pleased to offer vaccines for shingles (Zostavax), cervical cancer (Gardasil), tetanus & pertussis (Adacel) and meningitis (Menactra).

If you are over the age of 60 and have not had shingles, the new Zostavax shingles vaccine may be for you. Shingles is an extremely painful rash caused by the reactivation of chicken pox virus, which can produce long term, debilitating pain.

Gardasil is the very first vaccine indicated for cancer prevention. This vaccine protects against HPV, a virus that causes cervical cancer in women. In addition to routine pap smears, Gardasil is recommended for females ages 9 through 26.

Adacel is an improvement on the traditional tetanus booster. It now provides protection against pertussis, which causes severe bronchitis in adults, and has seen a recent resurgence among adults in the United States.

Menactra is recommended for persons at risk of meningitis, including college students and travelers.
